Our Journey to Church Planting

WHAT GOD HAS DONE

Within only a few months Jesus brought us out of the Sierra Foothills, provided for our needs as we were vetted by The SEND Network, and began our church plant training through Trinity Church of Benicia. He gave us ample opportunities for ministry and outreach in the Benicia area, provided our church plant with a church property in Calistoga, and expedited our plans from an expected 3 years of preparation down to a breathless 18 months before opening the opportunity for a new church plant in the Napa Valley.

WHAT WE ARE DOING

We have recently moved to St. Helena (minutes from Calistoga), but we commute the hour to Benicia each week as Jason continues his role as associate pastor at Trinity until our church plant begins weekly services. We are joining with other churches and have made a myriad of connections with Christians in the area who are excited to see a church plant in Calistoga. We are diving into a nearby youth group, homeschool co-ops, play dates, and other community opportunities, and are building friendships and relationships that will feed into the life of the Calistoga church.

We are continuing to build our core team, with the hope to meet for weekly services at the Calistoga property as early as Fall 2025. We are excited for the people who may already live in Calistoga, and those who God will call to MOVE to the town, who will become our core team; those called to partner with us in giving of our daily lives toward this church plant.

 

HOW GOD IS LEADING

In order for us to continue to pursue excellence in the areas God has called us currently, Jason will complete this full-time year of seminary (leaving only a few classes to complete by Spring of 2025), while continuing in his role as Associate Pastor at Trinity Benicia. We are continuing in our church planting training prep, and we are learning how to write an elevator pitch to explain who we are, what we're hoping to do, and to get others excited about partnering with us in this amazing adventure God has crafted.

A church property in Calistoga has been gifted to the church plant, and we are in the midst of securing insurance, funding, contractors, architects, and other necessary aspects in order to restore the building to a safe, hospitable environment before welcoming the community to regular services. Until the property is ready, we will be meeting in our St. Helena home for Sundays, as early as Easter of 2025.

 

WHAT WE NEED

We are ready to start fundraising and to continue team building! We will be looking for folks who want to see the gospel brought to both those who are so circumstantially comfortable that they don't realize they are in need of rescuing, and those who are desperately yearning to be loved. We are inviting our fellow believers to contribute in three primary ways: PRAYERS for Calistoga and for our family, FUNDS for the church renovations, and FUNDS for our survival. The wildest prayer we are expecting God to provide for are a few families who are called to MOVE to Calistoga as members of the core team, fully invested in seeing this church thrive.
